[Prose/Poem-Both/Neither]
I find myself spread across numerous subjects.
Ideas overlap where they used to be distant cousins at best.
Some of the overlap is welcome. Links to fuel the curiosity and wonder.
Some of the overlap is unwelcome. And as I seek those curious connections, I'm in danger of rejection by both camps.
It doesn't have to be "both". There could be more than two camps.
But these days? These days it's both.
The duality makes it much, much easier to comprehend. And much, much more difficult to do anything about.
I tread with care,
and
eventually,
there's only so much I can do before the doors slam shut and the trapdoors open.
Too much conversation turns to words unspoken.
All plays a part.
Compelled
How much of this is hope?
How much is wishful thinking?
How much is just a slope
Toward a heavy sinking?
The press of unmet needs
Is sometimes seen as wanting.
But either way, it seems
To be a necessary daunting.
Saturday seems a good day to publish some “Weekend Wanders & Wonders”. For today, a couple of texts that I hope resonate, despite the ambiguity. I enjoy how some poetry and prose can end up meaning so many things. And mean nothing too.
That’s what I see in the image above. Knowingly on a journey, since they’ve packed. Moving forward, though something is stopping them. Pushing against an invisible force. Daring to press on, yet still uncertain. And, all at once, it’s bright and dark around them. Prepared and unprepared. So I call it, “Contradiction to Interlude & Interlude to Contradiction”.
What thoughts and feelings spring to mind for you?
Is this your own artwork Martin?
